About the variety
Villa Melnik is among the few producers cultivating Mavrud in the Melnik region. Like the local Broadleaf Melnik (Shiroka Melnik), Mavrud is a late-ripening grape. The warm, long summers and mild autumns in Melnik allow the grapes to reach excellent sugar levels and full tannin maturity. Our Mavrud produces wines that are rich, soft, and beautifully fruit-forward.
