Variety: Shiroka Melnik, aka. Broad-leaved Melnik vine, a unique local grape, a late-ripening variety; the original “parent” to the crossings Melnik 1300 Jubilee, Ruen, Melnik 55, and Sandanski misket.
Alcohol: 13.5 % vol.
Winemaking: The wine is made from carefully selected grapes. 50% of the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks only. 50% is aged 24 months in second-usage Bulgarian 225L oak barrels.
Tasting notes: Super concentration and complexity of color, aromas and flavor. Expressive earthy aromas combined with tobacco, dried herbs, ripe red fruit, cherries and sourcherries, plums. The body is juicy and well-balanced with ripe tannin and a wonderful acidity. A long, noble finish.
Food pairings: ribs with barbeque sauce, meats in sweet and sour sauce, pork with fruit chutneys, beef with cranberry sauce, caramelized glaze, game meat
Serving tips: 17-19о С, decant 1 hour before drinking
