Lazarovden or Lazarus Saturday is the brightest Spring holiday.
On this day, the lazarki (typically unmarried young women) pick flowers, make flower wreaths, visit houses with wishes for health, longevity and prosperity. They are dressed in festive costumes and their songs and rituals have marriage and love motifs.
This Lazarovden, Villa Melnik invites all its friends who are young in spirit and young at heart. Let’s open our hearts with hope and wishes for health, individual and collective prosperity!
Together with you, we will weave wreaths and bouquets, we will plant spring flowers in our gardens, we will have an arts workshop with natural materials, we will learn the steps of a horo (dance) from the Melnik region, we will have fun with outdoors games!
And of course there will be many great wines and delicious barbecue!
Join us, dressed in your traditional outfits, if you have them!
